Van Persie and Arsenal hit back in style by winning 4-0 at home against Porto in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Van Persie said: “We wanted to bounce back from the Hull game, that was the idea.
“Everybody was really disappointed after losing against Hull. But this was a good day.
“We knew we had to make it up to the fans and make it right.
“We played well and it was a deserved win.”
