Adebayor was delighted with the way they bounced back from their shock defeat to Hull on Saturday.
Adebayor told The Sun: “I’m very happy.
“We played good football and showed character and personality to come back from Saturday’s defeat.
“The most important thing was to win. The fans are happy and we are happy too and that is the most important thing.
“Defeats are disappointing — we know that we have 60,000 people coming to see us every game.
“Last weekend the fans came to see us beat Hull City but it went wrong. As players, we were disappointed but the fans were even more upset.
“What happened on Saturday was not Arsenal. We had to come back against Porto and show people how we can play football and we did that.
“We’re happy that we’ve brought back the belief in ourselves and for the fans. The Hull game is behind us – but so is the Porto game.
“We have to focus on Saturday against Sunderland. If we put in the same spirit we have a big chance of winning against them.”
