The Trotters managed to beat West Ham 3-1 away at Upton Park.
O’Brien told Sky Sports after the game: “We knew that our away form has to improve and we are delighted to get the points.
“It was an important win as well. We have closed the gap and it’s a great result for us.”
He added: “We knew that we had to come here and work had. We felt we had been disappointed with the results. This season we have played quite well but not got the results. Today we put in a good performance and got the right result.”
