Nigel Worthington’s side have just managed to take one point from their opening three matches.
“Saturday’s (2-0 defeat) in Slovenia makes it more difficult to qualify for the finals, but I don’t think it’s all over,” said the Fulham defender.
“Yes, it’s going to be tough and we can’t afford any more slip-ups, but we can still get ourselves back in contention in the group.
“The preparation for the first three games has been really good. It’s been consistent, a good standard.
“A few results have to go our way, but I think there’ll be a few twists and turns in this group, so we can get back in the race.
“Six points against San Marino in our next two games will get us back in the mix. Nobody needs picking up at this stage – we’re all raring to go.”
