He said: “Joe is a simple guy when it comes to football and that’s what he has been drilling into us. He hasn’t been shouting or barking at us.
“He has given us a bit of stability. We knew he would be here for two or three months and he has come into a difficult job and done well so far.
“You can only judge him on results and, if we play like we did in the second half at Everton, things will be OK.
“It’s early days at the minute but we showed a bit of courage there.”
