Lahm will be out of action for around four weeks with a fractured foot bone.
“Losing Philipp is obviously a blow,” said Rummenigge. “He’s easily the best left-back in the league and one of the best in Europe, and he’s had a great season so far.
“Obviously we’ll miss him over the four weeks he’s likely to be out, but there’s nothing we can change now. His place will probably go to Christian Lell, an experienced Bundesliga player, who we’re glad to see back from injury.”
