Adrian Mutu scored the goal for the Viola.
“I think the whole team were excellent today and we played very well,” Melo told Sky Sport Italia.
“We could have scored more but that’s football. I think we were rather unlucky as Bayern didn’t play particularly well or create great chances.
“We lacked the second goal but compliments to both teams as we played really well.
“We now have to look forward and try and beat Lyon and then we will see what happens.”
