Jorgensen has been struggling with his fitness this season and has started just two Serie A games for the Viola.
“You just need to be patient a little bit more and you’ll see Martin back on the playing field,” his agent Ippolito Gallovich told Florence newspaper La Nazione.
“He was struck down with a fever a few weeks ago and has now had a relapse. He had resumed working with his teammates, but his temperature would spike every night and he started having difficulties in training.
“I have been speaking with him on the phone and medical tests have confirmed it is just a flu virus, but nothing more. Is he angry? Not at all, he is calm and optimistic, as he feels the Viola doctors have been impeccable.”
The 33-year-old’s current contract expires at the end of the season.
