The youngster joined the Spanish side from Manchester United in the summer of 2007.
“I’m not thinking about returning to Italy,” the 21-year-old said.
“I am happy at Villarreal. This is my second year in Spain and I’m not missing anything.”
He added: “Italian football is beautiful. In Spain people follow Serie A and I don’t see it as lacking any appeal because it has its own characteristics that are very attractive.”
