Ronaldinho: I almost joined Torino

“I have a very precise memory of my brother as a very young man coming to Torino on trial,” he revealed in Tuttosport.

“You can imagine how my family felt, as it was about to change our lives. We would’ve all come to Turin with him, that was the deal with the directors, and I was set to join their youth ranks, as I already played football.

“However, Gremio did not release him. They convinced him to stay by giving the family a house that we all moved into and I also started playing for Gremio.”

The Brazilian also heaped praise on coach Carlo Ancelotti.

“Ancelotti is a friendly commander, which is the perfect thing for a Coach to be,” smiled the Brazilian.

“If he makes you work, he is great because he is able to explain exactly what he wants. The real difference compared to other tacticians is the rapport he has with us, one of a friend.”
