Villa are currently keeping Arsenal out of the important fourth place, that will secure Champions League action next season.
Laursen said: “We have to be very pleased with our season so far.
“We have played two big UEFA Cup games, in a competition Villa have not been involved in for a long time, and we have won both of them. And we are also fourth in the league.
“We have beaten Arsenal at the Emirates. We have drawn with the English and European champions in Manchester United. Everything is moving in the right direction.
“It is a pleasure to play for this club. We are playing some really good football going forward and we are defending well too.”
Aston Villa will face Fulham on Saturday.
He added: “Fulham is a vital game. I think we can improve when the pressure is on us as the home team.
“When we are the favourites against the so-called ‘smaller’ sides, we have to keep hold of the ball and create chances. That’s where we can improve.
“It will be difficult against Fulham but we need to win. We need to keep this momentum going.
“We want to stay in the top four and we will certainly be up for it on Saturday.”
