The former Newcastle United ace has been out of action since August 2007 after breaking his leg in a game against Bristol Rovers.
West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola is impressed with the progress Dyer has made.
He said: “We’re trying to arrange a game for Kieron Dyer to play in this week.
“He’s progressing very, very well. He’s training the best he has this week and he is doing really well.”
