The French side managed to secure a spot in the Uefa Cup after getting eliminated from the Champions League.
“We are very happy because, in view of the first three games we disputed [all of which were lost], we have done well to qualify,” he told Football365. “It is a lesser evil than elimination.
“Unlike others, we believe the UEFA Cup is a prestigious trophy that should be coveted. We will make every effort to go as far as possible in the competition and I’d like to affirm our desire to win it. There are opponents the size of Valencia and [Deportivo] La Coruna who are involved.”
