The Gunners are eight points behind Liverpool on the Premier League table.
He told the Sun: “I think if we lose to Aston Villa we can say goodbye to our title chances — we have to go there and get a positive result.
“But we’re capable of doing that. There’s a lot of belief in the side, we know we have the talent.”
He added: “We had mixed feelings after the game, particularly because of Adebayor’s sending-off, which we all thought was unfair and changed the game.
“But even with only 10 men, we created chances, so in a way we have regrets. In the first half physically I felt fine but there was a period in the second half when I felt the effects of not playing.
“But I was coming back into it well at the end.”
