Spurs boss Redknapp was not happy after their goalless draw with Fulham on Boxing Day.
“We’re short of a cutting edge,” said Redknapp. “But the big problem for me is where do I find a striker from?
“The chairman here made an offer for Craig Bellamy of West Ham but it was turned down.
“I will not take a chance on signing someone I do not know about. I need to find a striker who will make us better.”
He added: “Bobby Zamora was here at Spurs but he was let go as they didn’t think he was good enough.
“Yet Zamora was outstanding for Fulham today. He held up the ball exceptionally well and also combined well with Andy Johnson.
“I wish he was still at Tottenham.
“They let him go and maybe thought he wasn’t good enough. Maybe he wasn’t good enough when they had (Dimitar) Berbatov, (Robbie) Keane and (Jermain) Defoe but he looks all right to me.”
