De Jong has admitted he is keen on a move to City due to the potential the club have.
De Jong said in the Mail on Sunday: “Some people say footballers are thick and not bright enough to be entrepreneurs.
“But when I see that a company has potential, I move the borders and go all the way for it.
“Everybody knows that I want to play for a big club eventually. I count City in that category.”
