Reports says Atletico is preparing a bid for Coupet’s former team-mate.
Coupet said: “He’s a top player, talented and precise. Besides, he scores lots of goals.
“I’m convinced he would do well in the Spanish league because he can control the ball, protect it, and he is technically good.
“I got on well with him and we used to be friends.”
