Villa are third in the Premiership, only five points behind league leaders Manchester United.
“We are coming to a very important time and we want to try and keep the momentum going,” O’Neill told The Sun.
“We have been up there all year and it’s been a great effort by the players. But we have achieved nothing yet.
“The important thing now is that whatever comes or goes we try and finish the season off well.
“People will say that maybe we have had a bit of luck along the way and that is true.
“It is always good to play well and win as we did at Blackburn last week – and I think that was important.”
