Lecce lost 5-2 to Palermo on Sunday but De Canio remains positive on their future.
“We believe in the survival without any doubt,” declared the former Napoli coach to Radio Kiss Kiss.
“On Sunday, recovering two goals from Palermo proved that there are important signs for the future, but we will have to be more careful in the defensive phase.
“If I didn’t firmly believe in the survival, I would have never accepted this challenge.
“Hiding the difficulties would be stupid, but I have trust in the players and in the possibilities of the group I’m coaching.”
