The 22-year-old has become Lazio’s No1 transfer target ahead of Sergio Floccari and Julio Cruz for the summer.
Acquafresca is currently on loan to Cagliari from Serie A leaders Inter Milan.
Paolo Fabbri, Acquafresca’s agent, said: “We don’t know of any interest from Lazio. All we know is that Robert will go back to Inter where he should find a first team place.”
