Popov confident ahead of Oranje clash

Macedonia, who have only three points from three matches, will face the Netherlands on Wednesday evening.

“This team has been together for about five years now and we’re still getting better,” Popov explained to Leeuwarder Courant.

“A lot of Macedonian players play at a high level. We have players at big teams such as Heerenveen, Auxerre, Lazio and Levski Sofia.

“We struggle at home sometimes, but we play better in our away games. The Macedonian home crowd is very harsh and that makes us act a bit nervous every now and then.”
