The 33-year-old has managed to bounce back from a knee problem he has struggled with in the past two years.
Valeron’s current deal expires in 2010, but the veteran is keen on a extension.
“I have not decided on anything,” he said. “I don’t look too far ahead into my long term future. I’m only thinking about helping the team achieve our targets this season and when the time comes [for contract talks] then we will discuss it
“If I see myself still in the right condition to compete and be at a sufficient level to play for Deportivo, then of course I would love to continue.”
