De Zeeuw has been impressive for AZ in the Dutch Eredivisie this season and his contract with the club expires in 2011.
“I almost joined them last summer and I know that they’re still interested. HSV are a big team and signing for them is definitely an interesting option,” said the Holland international to VI.
“I want to play European football next campaign, but that can also be in the Europa League. There’s more to life than the Champions League.
“I recently made the decision not to sign a new contract at AZ, but that doesn’t mean that I’m 100% sure leaving the club this summer. I’ll stay here when nothing interesting comes up.”
