Lyon could decide to cash in on the 29-year-old as his contract expires in 2010.
“I have a one year contract left with Lyon and my time is up. I will not renew my contract, my decision has been taken,” Govou told newspaper Dauphine Libere.
“The only thing I know is I won’t sign again at Lyon. 12 years here, among which 10 years with the professional group – that is long. The desire to discover a new club is important.”
It is believed Lyon could be willing to sell Govou for just £3million.
