Obertan is undergoing a medical in Manchester ahead of a £3million move to the Premier League champions.
The youngster spent the second half of last season on loan at Ligue 2 side Lorient.
The 20-year-old has also been linked with Arsenal, Inter Milan and AC Milan but United appears to have won the race for the youngster.
