The Iceland international is expected to leave Camp Nou this summer and Aston Villa, Everton and Fulham are among the clubs interested in signing the 30-year-old.
Zola told Sky Sports News: “Eidur is certainly a very, very good player. I am sure West Ham are not the only team who are looking for a good player like him.”
“We are trying to spot what our weaknesses can be,” added Zola.
“Certainly we need to improve upfront and that is the majority of the job.”
