The 33-year-old is surplus to requirements at the Italian side and has been linked with a return to the Premier League.
“It’s gone very quiet to be honest,” Redknapp told AFP in Beijing.
“When Patrick’s name was put to me a few weeks ago, saying he was interested in moving to Tottenham, I became interested in him.
“I’ve always thought he could bring something to the club. He’s been there (at the top) and he’s a fantastic player. I still feel he has something to offer Tottenham.”
“His adviser said Patrick was interested in coming. But since then it has gone very quiet,” he added.
“Whether it happens now, I can’t be sure. But I certainly would be interested in him if he became available.”
