The 28-year-old’s agent has confirmed that the midfielder will be staying in the Eternal City.
“Matteo will remain with Roma and is happy with the decision, it is definite,” Vanni Puzzolo told violanews.com.
“Only a change in ownership and a change in strategy could allow him to move from the Giallorossi, but from what I know he is very much appreciated [at the club],” he continued.
“The negotiations with Fiorentina? I spoke once with [sporting director Pantaleo] Corvino a long time ago.
“We can’t speak about failed negotiations, because nothing was ever decided.”
