Voronin impressed during a loan spell at the club last season.
Hertha coach Lucien Favre told Bild: “Yes, I have contact with Andriy, just spoken to him on the telephone.
“The contact was never broken off. He played excellently for us.”
Hertha general manager Michael Preetz said: “We would like to have Voronin – if it was financially doable.”
