The Italy international has failed to make an impact at Anfield since joining the club in a £7million deal in the summer of 2008.
Dossena was linked with a move to Napoli this summer.
“I’ve heard a lot of rumours about my future this summer but the truth is I want to remain at Liverpool,” he told the Liverpool Echo.
“I’m happy with my team-mates, with my coach and with the club. I have never wanted to leave.”
