The 29-year-old impressed for Hull last season but had several disputes with Brown.
“I’m at advanced stages with Geo and he’s made reference to wanting to stay at Hull and in England, he’s got nothing but positives to say about the club,” Brown told the Hull Daily Mail.
“I have had many, many conversations with Geovanni. He can sulk, but these players can take things personally at times when it’s nothing personal.
“I understand the deal is that you’re going to have spats with your players if you’re passionate about your job and this club.
“That’s probably a sign that they’re passionate as well, so I don’t have a problem with it.”
