The Spanish giants was drawn in Group F along with Italian side Inter Milan.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic joined Barcelona from Inter this summer while Samuel Eto’o moved the other way.
“Fate sometimes has these things, but I was convinced that we would get Inter,” he smiled in an interview with Sport.
“It will be nice to see Eto’o in Camp Nou again. We will see [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic in Milan again, while Thiago Motta will return with the Nerazzurri side.
“I don’t know if these sorts of games, [which are] so competitive, are the best for a tribute,” Laporta continued when asked if the club would thank Eto’o for his time at Camp Nou.
“‘Ibra’ can also be very motivated,” he continued. “He is a player who likes this sort of challenge and he knows that this has to be his year in the Champions League.”
