The 24 year old had been linked with several moves away from l’OM including rumors of a link to a Premier League club.
“The coming season is going to be exciting, there are big challenges and I like difficulty,” said Valbuena.
“I felt I didn’t completely terminate the job here. And I still have a lot to learn. I didn’t want to join any club.
“Above all I was not sure I wanted to leave. Now I am sure with my choice. I have no regrets.
“I have always fought hard for a position in the team.”
