Rennes’ technical director Pierre Dreossi revealed that they have lodged a complaint to Fifa over City’s signing of Jeremy Helan.
Fifa said in a statement: “We can confirm that there is a case pending with Fifa’s Player Status Department involving Jeremy Helan, Stade Rennais FC and Manchester City.”
City were recently banned from signing new players until January 2011, following their signing of Gael Kakuta.
