Rooney is enjoying his central role and has impressed this season but the 23-year-old believes Untied have yet to hit top form.
“Right now I feel confident and believe we can score in every game,” he said in The Sun.
“I work a lot on my finishing in training and I always feel if I get a chance or a one-on-one, I’m going to score.
“I certainly never feel I don’t know what I’m going to do in that situation. As a team we’re always encouraged by the manager to work hard and improve.
“I don’t feel think I am the finished article as I believe even the best players in the world can always get better.”
“As a team we have started the season very well and I think playing in different positions over the years has helped my own personal game,” he added.
“You have a different view on everything. Playing up front and feeling confident about scoring goals, makes me believe I can do better than last year’s total.”
