Ireland was taken to hospital and kept in overnight following City’s Carling Cup win over Fulham 10 days ago.
The midfielder complained of dizziness during the win over Fulham.
“Stephen’s fine now,” said Hughes. “There was concern when he came off against Fulham, but we ran a series of tests and they came back.
“Then he suffered a bout of sickness, so he was off for a few days. But he’s back training now so he’s available for the Villa game.”
