Portugal could be knocked-out of the race to reach the World Cup in South Africa next summer, tomorrow.
Rooney told The Sun: “It’d be nice to see Portugal not there because, in the last two tournaments, they’ve knocked us out.”
In the 2006 World Cup, Rooney was sent off in the quarter-final against Portugal, in a game where Cristiano Ronaldo gave his bench the famous wink.
Portugal managed to beat the Three Lions on penalties, the same way they did in the last eight of Euro 2004.
