Cole said: “Harry is sick of the sight of me.
“People say I’m not fit, but the only way I’m going to get fit is by playing games.
“I haven’t come here for two years to sit about and watch the boys every Saturday. That’s not me. I’ve told the manager that. I’m not saying I should start every game. But I want to play my fair quota. I said that to Harry, and he took it on board and gave me a game.
“That was my first Premiership start since last February. I wanted to play and prove I could play for 90 minutes – I played for 95. I’m more than happy. I’ve proved to myself I’m fit enough to play in the toughest league in the world.”
