The Benfica midfielder has made a big impact in Portugal and would cost City at least £10million.
Robinho insisted: “Ramires is a great player, a youngster who has been playing for Brazil and that says a lot about his quality.
“He’ll go far, he’ll be a superstar and his talent is recognised not only in Brazil.
“I have only got good things to say about him. If he comes to City, he’ll certainly be well received by everyone.
“They should sign him. The manager decides whether City need a player like him but good players are always needed and Ramires has got tremendous potential.”
