But Hangeland insists he is staying focused on performing well.
“We have had a couple of meetings (about a new contract) and hopefully it won’t be long,” said Hangeland.
“It’s nice when people think I’ve done well but I don’t really know how much was in that speculation (linking him with Arsenal).
“In the summer there will always be rumours. I just concentrate on the training ground and the pitch.”
