Strachan will succeed Gareth Southgate who was surprisingly sacked following their 2-0 league victory over Derby last Tuesday.
Strachan was immediately named favourite for the job, following the sacking of Southgate.
A statement on the club’s official website read: “Gordon Strachan will be unveiled as Boro’s new manager at a press conference at the Riverside at 2.30pm this afternoon.”
