Villarreal scored three times in the opening 15 minutes of the game. The Italian hitman scored the Spanish side’s fourth goal.
“In the first 15 minutes we dominated the match, and after finishing the first half with a 3-0 advantage over Lazio, the match was always going to be an uphill battle for them from there,” Rossi explained to Mediaset.
“I do not know if the red card was there for [Roberto] Baronio, but certainly it was never going to be easy for them to recover after losing a player on three minutes.
“We also had a player sent off, but by that stage the score was 3-0, so that didn’t affect us very much.”
