The 33-year-old Corinthians striker has been struggling with a number of serious injuries in recent seasons.

“But I don’t want to lose all the affection that the Brazilian fans have given me since I came back. And as a result I’m very confused…
“It’s a difficult decision, but my body is calling me. I have had years of suffering, injuries, training, physiotherapy – an incredible story. Now I need a bit of rest.”
