Bolton are struggling in the bottom three in the Premier League and Megson has hinted he may have lost the support of his dressing room.
The games against Fulham and Wolves could decide Megson’s future at the club as the Trotters reportedly have already contacted Zenga.
“Zenga has been approached by Bolton,” said a close associate of Zenga to The Mirror.
“And knowing him well, he is very open to the idea. He speaks seven languages, including English, and has lived in many countries. England will be no problem for him.”
Zenga was axed as boss of Palermo on Monday.
