Blackburn face Chelsea at home at Ewood Park and Nelsen believes the home advantage will be a boost for the team.
“Our home form since the manager [Sam Allardyce] arrived has been top class,” Nelsen told his club’s official website.
“Chelsea are coming here, they will always put out a strong side, and we are obviously looking forward to it.
“If we take our chances when they come and get that little bit of luck you need on these occasions then you never know what could happen.”
