The 34-year-old’s contract with Hull expires at the end of the season and Boateng admits he needs to change his style of play in order to stay a Premier League player.
He told BBC Radio Humberside: “I’ve started to think, how can I stay at this level. I’m thinking, do I need to alter my game?
“The way I played against Everton is probably the way I need to be playing to stay in the Premier League.”
But Boateng is yet to hold talks bout a new deal with Hull.
He said: “No-one has said anything because as you can imagine, the club has bigger much more important issues.
“For me, at my age and in my situation, if I want to get a new contract either here or somewhere else I need to be playing and prove my worth and at the moment that’s simply not a fact because I haven’t played enough games.”
