The 22-year-old has been a part of Fabio Capello’s England team in the past, but is yet to make an appearance.
“It’s difficult at this level. I’m not sure England scouts come to watch,” he said.
“But you never know, with a few injuries I could be back in the picture.
“You want to play U21 for England and then go on to the next level but my first priority is to get Boro back up, then hopefully I’ll get noticed.”
