Tuttosport says United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is impressed with Gasperini’s style of football at Genoa and would be keen to bring him to Old Trafford as his technical assistant.
Fergie would help Gasperini into replacing him as manager at Old Trafford once the Scot decides to retire.
United scouts have reportdly watched several Genoa games this season.
Fiorentina, Napoli and Juventus have all shown an interest in Gasperini previously.
