Del Bosque said: “They lack leadership players. Some of the players lack direction and they need someone to lead them.
“The team lacks players who are prepared to impose themselves on games. To demand others to run, to fight.”
He added: “I believe the current crisis at Madrid needs more than simply chopping and changing players.
“Madrid is in a difficult situation and it will take a huge effort to lift themselves out of it. It is crucial they examine the real causes of these problems because this cannot continue for a club of their stature.”
