Liverpool ace wants to emulate Man Utd veteran

Carragher is set to make his 600th appearance for Liverpool today at Portsmouth.

Carragher believes he still has another three or four years left Anfield.

“I’d like to do that,” said Carragher. “Alex Ferguson is very clever in deciding when Ryan Giggs plays.

“I’m sure I could do that role one day, although it’s a little bit different at centre-back where managers don’t like to rotate it as much.

“Then again, centre-back is a position where there isn’t a tremendous amount of running so it can work both ways. Either way, I’d like to think I’d be capable of playing 25 or 30 games for Liverpool a season at 34 or 35.”
